ANGELES CITY — The Tarlac police has established 42 checkpoints all over the province as part of its effort to ensure peaceful and orderly elections this May.

Tarlac police director Senior Supt. Alex Sintin also reported that a total of 86 illegally possessed guns have already been confiscated at these checkpoints.

“We will ensure maximum deployment of policemen in the 42 checkpoints,” he said.

“It’s all part of the Safe and Fair Elections or SAFE program we have put in place since last Jan. 10.”

“Although we have recorded zero election- related incident in the 2013 elections, police personnel will still identify possible election watchlist areas where violence might erupt,” Sintin stressed.

The SAFE campaign is being done in partnership with the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
