BALANGA CITY — The Bataan Police Provincial Office on Thursday, Sept. 21, presented 404 assorted firearms, mostly deposited for safe-keeping, for peaceful barangay and sangguniang kabataan elections on Oct. 30.
Col. Palmer Tria, Bataan police director, said 323 small and 81 long firearms mostly came from local politicians who preferred to deposit the guns while the election period is going on.
Of the total 404 firearms from 11 towns and one city, one was abandoned, 11 surrendered and 392 deposited.
The police director assured that the election in Bataan will be clean and orderly and the electorate will be free to choose their candidates.
The firearms were presented during the peace covenant attended by thousands of candidates.
