CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Some 4,000 jail inmates took part in last Monday’s elections, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) here reported.
Comelec regional director Rafael Olaño said the election in jails were done in two modes.
The first was via a “special voting precinct inside the provincial, city or municipal jail for 50 or more voter-detainees,” he said.
The second is for jails with less than 50 voter-detainees who were instead escorted by personnel of the Bureau of Jail and Management to their respective precincts.
