FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – After their three-month on-the-job training at the 84th Infantry (Victorious) Battalion of the Philippine Army, 40 privates will go back to their mother unit, the Army Artillery Regiment.
The 84IB led by Lt. Col. Enrico Gil C. Ileto held a simple send-off ceremony on May 16 for the privates.
Ileto said the send-off was “filled with the sincerest appreciation, commendable acknowledgement, and thanksgiving between the privates and the personnel of 84IB.”
During the OJT period, the 84IB imparted to and shared knowledge with the privates on combat operations, civil-military operations, and administrative activities. As a practical application of the training, the privates were even deployed as part of the augmentation team for the recent elections.
In his message, Ileto said, “Godspeed to the privates of Army Artillery Regiment na-detached service dito sa 84IB. Nawa’y wag ninyong kalimutan yung mga natutunan ninyo dito that will become one of your foundations sa inyong pagsusundalo sa pagseserbisyo di lamang sa Nueva Ecija dahil kayo ay madedeploy sa ibat ibang panig ng bansa.”
Maj. Gen. Andrew D. Costelo, commander of 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division extended his compliments to the 40 privates and expressed his gratitude to the 84IB for imparting the necessary skills and knowledge to them during their OJT.
