BALANGA CITY — The Provincial Health Office (PHO) here on Monday announced that four of five persons under investigation (PUI) in the province were released from confinement in hospitals.
Dr. Rosanna Buccahan, PHO chief, said three were earlier released after testing negative of the 2019 novel coronavirus.
Another, she said, was discharged after undergoing quarantine for 14 days but refused to undertake laboratory test. The fifth was already tested of the virus and awaiting result.
Buccahan emphasized that being under the PUI category does not automatically mean that a patient is afflicted with the virus.
“Only the result of a lab exam will determine it,” she said.
Buccahan also corrected news report from the Region 3 office of the Department of Health that there were six PUI in Bataan: “Only five and we have already informed DOH 3 about it.”
She assured the public that PUIs are properly isolated and have nothing to worry.
