GAPAN CITY – An alleged member of a robbery gang and three others were arrested in the midst of a pot session in Barangay San Roque here shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday.
Nueva Ecija police acting director Col. Richard Caballero identified the suspects as Richard Domingo, the alleged gang robbery member, John Mark Navarro, Julius Ulpindo, and Guillermo Magbitang, all of the said barangay.
“The suspects were caught in the act of having a pot session by a composite team from different police units,” Caballero said.
Confiscated from the suspects were 25 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P170,000, .45 grams of dried marijuana leaves worth P300, a fragmentation grenade, one .40 pistol, one .38 revolver, several rounds of bullets and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Caballero said the pot session was uncovered when the operatives went to Domingo’s residence to serve a search warrant issued by a local court. The suspect was allegedly a member of “Salvador Robbery and Illegal Drugs Gang.”
Charges of violations of Republic Acts 9165 and 10591 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act, respectively, were leveled against the suspects, police said.
