OLONGAPO CITY — Four persons were arrested by personnel of Police Station 4 here engaged in illegal gambling amid the enhanced community quarantine.
Police Station 4 commander Capt. Walter Primero said their desk officer received a call from a concerned citizen of an ongoing gambling activity at Mt. Hibok-Hibok, Libas, Purok 1, Barangay New Cabalan.
This prompted the station to investigate and caught the suspects playing “pusoy dos.”
Police identified those arrested as Vilma Oñati y Diaz, 45; Rose Vanpikker y Fidenes, 41; Anita Conico y Esternon, 61; and Maryjane Magat y Lago, 59, all residents of the mentioned barangay.
Confiscated from them were a deck of playing cards, bet money amounting to P418 in different denominations, and other gambling paraphernalia.
The suspects are now detained at Police Station 4 detention cell facing charges for violation of PD 1602 (Illegal Gambling) before the City Prosecutor’s Office
