BALANGA CITY -An acting jail warden on Wednesday said they were in continuous manhunt for a 19-year old inmate who escaped last Saturday at dawn after being detained for only four days at the Bataan District Jail in Balanga City.

Senior Insp. Marina Teodoro, acting warden, said they are offering a reward of P10,000 in cash for the capture of Jimmy Obina, Jr. of Barangay Imelda in Samal, Bataan.

Obina was charged and detained at the former Bataan provincial jail for a case of robbery with force upon things.

The acting warden said the prisoner escaped at about 3:30 a.m. by passing in between the iron grills of his cell towards the roof of the jail to the street.

“Skinny lang itong inmate tulad ko at nakalusot sa pagitan ng mga rehas sa selda at tumalon palabas sa pader matapos dumaan sa bubong,” Teodoro said.

She said that because of the incident, they have requested the provincial government to reinforce the iron grills of the prison cells and the perimeter fence.

Teodoro, in-charge  of the female dormitory, took over then warden Senior Supt. Neil Subibi who was relieved because of the incident. The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology reportedly implements the “Strike One Policy” in escape cases.
