ANGELES CITY – A certificate of recognition and P100,000 were awarded to each of five centenarians here Thursday.
Lucia Mationg, Lourdes Cruz, Tomasa Eusebio, Leonisa Olimpo, and Fructuso Salvador received their awards from Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel and members of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Republic Act 10868 “An Act Honoring and Granting Additional Benefits and Privileges to Filipino Centenarians, and for Other Purposes” also known as the Centenarians Act of 2016, grants all Filipinos who reach 100 years whether residing in the country or abroad, a cash award of P100,000 as centenarian gift.
The validation of centenarians was conducted by DSWD staff with the verification of documents submitted such as birth certificate or Philippine passport, senior citizen identification card or any other Philippine government-issued ID which shows age and citizenship.
Also present during the awarding of certificates and cash gift were city social welfare and development officer Joy Duaso and Office for Senior Citizens Affairs chief Rod Enriquez.
