ORION, BataanThe Department of Health on Monday night confirmed the third patient in Bataan found positive of Covid-9, prompting this municipality where he came from to institute stricter measures.

Patient No. 3 is male, 55, and a resident of Orion. He works in Metro Manila and has been confined in a Bataan hospital since March 15, 2020.

Orion Mayor Antonio Raymundo imposed 24-hour curfew starting midnight of March 24 that he said will be strictly implemented to prevent the spread of Covid19. Checkpoints will be setup.

He said barangays will issue five barangay quarantine passes. The first is for those who will go to the market, groceries, drugstores, bakery, banks, ATM, agricultural supply, gas stations, and hardware.

The second is the employees pass that will be given to workers in banks and other establishments allowed to open; third, patient pass; fourth, market vendor’s pass; and fifth, farmers’ and fishermen’s pass.

The municipal government, on the other hand, will issue three passes, one for front liners, second for medical staff working outside Orion, and third for employees of companies outside thistown.

The mayor urged all residents to wear face masks outside houses.

He divided the town of 23 barangays into north and south clusters when going to the market. Those in the north can go marketing during Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; while Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays for those in the south.

He announced that barangays will start distributing food packs starting this Tuesday.

“Kailangan ang pakikiisa at pang-unawa ng lahat at asahan ninyong gagawin namin ang lahat  upang hindi kumalat ang virus na ito. Kailangan natin ang divine intercession. Manalangin tayo na ang patient No. 1, 2, at 3  ay maka-rekober,” Raymundo said.

Gov. Albert Garcia said that PH64, M-32 and PH303, M-24 are fast recovering. The governor said tracing for those the three patients came in contact with continued.

Latest report showed that there are 5,688 persons under monitoring and 364 persons under investigation in Bataan.
