TARLAC CITY (PIA) — A total of 360 micro establishment owners in Tarlac attended the technical and advisory training of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
The Technical Advisory Visit (TAV) is a program that orients micro establishment owners with less than 10 workers on labor laws particularly General Labor Standards, Basic Occupational Safety and Health, and Workplace Emergency Preparedness.
DOLE Regional Director Geraldine Panlilio said the capacity building activity aims to assist and empower micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
“Majority of the establishments in Central Luzon are micro, small, and medium enterprises who provide employment opportunities and boost our economy, that is why we are providing necessary tools to increase your productivity by strengthening your personnel,” she pressed.
Panlilio highlighted the partnership they created with local government units and national government agencies to bring government services closer to MSMEs.
“Through our Public Employment Service Offices, we are able to reach micro establishment owners to equip them with knowledge on labor and employment and services it can extend,” she added.
Meanwhile, about seven TAV training participants received certificates of eligibility for the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP).
One of the recipients, Ofel Diamse of 24Mar Electronics Shop from Barangay Tibag in Tarlac City expressed her gratitude for being qualified to DILP.
“The equipment we will be receiving from DOLE will help us work amid power interruptions because it is solar powered. In effect, it will increase our productivity and boost our production,” she said.
Each beneficiary will receive P30,000 worth of materials, tools, and equipment for their businesses. (CLJD/GLSB, PIA Region 3-Tarlac)
