MARIVELES, Bataan — Police operatives nabbed Tuesday night three suspects tagged in the killing Monday of two alleged drug personalities in a barangay here.
Lt. Col. Emelito dela Cruz, Mariveles police chief, said that through hot pursuit and relentless operation, they collared Adrian Alcacid, Leonel Mawa, and Henry Espiritu, all residents of Barangay Camaya, Mariveles.
De la Cruz said they recovered from the three in their hideout in Camaya the motorcycle used as getaway vehicle of Alcacid based on CCTV footages and three empty cartridges of 9mm pistol.
Witnesses, police chief said, positively identified the arrested suspects as the very same persons who gunned down Edward Ramos of Barangay Sisiman and William Versoza of Barangay Camaya.
Dela Cruz said that record verification showed that the two victims were both in the police unified drug watchlist and involved in illegal drug activities in Mariveles and nearby areas based on the barangay information network.
The bodies of the victims were discovered by a farmer in Sitio Forestry, a mountainous area in Camaya.
Mariveles police recovered from the crime scene seven empty cartridges of 9mm and one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing shabu, among some other items.
Police quoting witnesses said that the suspects got angry at the victims because of debt in a shabu transaction.
Dela Cruz said they are preparing cases of murder against the three suspects.
Bataan police director Col. Romell Velasco lauded the Mariveles police for the immediate arrest of the suspects.
