OLONGAPO CITY – Three suspected drug pushers were arrested by joint elements of the Zambales Criminal Investigation and Detection Team (ZCIDT) and Olongapo City Police in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Region 3 in an anti-drug operation in Barangay Calapacuan, Subic, Zambales, Tuesday morning.
ZCIDT provincial officer, Chief Inspector Rogelio Peñones, Jr., identified the suspects as Rogelio Dela Cruz, 25; Melencio Lopez, 26 and Christian Aquino, 23, all resident of No. 0341 Mercurio St., Barangay Calapacuan, Subic, Zambales.
Reports said that at about 11:30 a.m., elements of ZCIDT and Olongapo City Police implemented “Oplan Big Bertha”, the campaign against illegal drugs after receiving reports that the suspects were again engaged in illegal drug activities.
The suspects were collared by police authorities in the act selling sachets of shabu worth P500 to police assets.
Police recovered from the suspects’ possessions three plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing 15 grams with estimated market value of P210,000 and marked money.
The suspects were locked up at ZCIDT detention cell facing charges for violation of Section 5 and 11 of RA 9165 (selling and possession of drugs).
