ANGELES CITY – Three persons who allegedly tried to fight back in separate police drug buy-bust stings have been killed within three days in Tarlac province.
Separate reports from the Tarlac police forces identified the slain suspects as Jen Jen Navarro who was killed at the Gawad Kalinga Resettlement in Barangay Pitabunan in Concepcion town last Sunday, one identified only as alias Nesto who was killed in Barangay Apsayan in Gerona last Monday, and one Eugene Flores who was killed in Barangay Binauganan in Tarlac City last Tuesday.
The police reports on the three incidents were almost carbon copies of each other, saying the suspects pulled out their pistols but were outdrawn by the police after successful buy-bust stings.
Meanwhile in this city, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported yesterday the arrest of 12 suspects, including two minors, in its anti-Illegal drug sting operations on Hadrian St., in the Balibago commercial district here the other day.
PDEA identified the adult suspects as Evelyn Flores, 35, Salvador Macawile, 28, Jocelyn Lavina, 31, Ferdinand Macawile, 40, John Paul Lopez, 18, Ariel Fernandez 31, Rodel Nallada, 33, Bayani De Guzman, 73, Tikyu Valenzuela, 22 and Noel Evangelista, 51, and the two minors who are all residents of Angeles City.
PDEA reported that the drug sting resulted in the discovery of a drug den being maintained by Flores and the seizure of P204,000 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu.
The anti-drug operation also yielded 15 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be a shabu with an estimated weight of more or less 30 grams, assorted drug paraphernalia and the buybust money, PDEA said.
Flores and her cohorts were temporarily detained at PDEA jail in City of San Fernando while the two minors were turned over to the city social welfare office.
