3 killed in latest vigilante attacks in NE

    CABANATUAN CITY – Three alleged drug personalities were killed while a woman who had supposedly admitted to authorities being a drug pusher and user was seriously wounded, in strings of attacks by anti-drug vigilantes in separate Nueva Ecija municipalities in the last two days.

    The fatalities were identifi ed as Sherwin Sison, 40, resident of Barangay Ilog Baliwag, and Abdon Ramiscal, Jr., 37, of Barangay Bertese, both of Quezon town; and Norbert dela Cruz, 28, of Barangay Niyugan, Jaen, Nueva Ecija.

    Hit by a bullet on her head and currently undergoing medical treatment at a local hospital was Dahlea Gonzales, 32, also of Barangay Niyugan, Jaen.

    Police said Sison who was No. 10 in the police drug watch list was seated on a waiting shed near Solomon Excellence Academy school in Purok 5, Barangay Dulong Bayan, Quezon when shot dead by motorcycle-riding men at around 8:20 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 9).

    Ramiscal who was No. 7 in the watch list was astride his parked single motorcycle near Holy Family Academy School in Barangay 2, Quezon, Nueva Ecija at about 5 p.m. Monday when two men wearing helmets shot him twice that resulted in his instant death, according to PO2 Jose Carlo Trinidad, police investigator.

    The suspects used .45 pistols in both incidents, police said.

    In Jaen town, Dela Cruz and Gonzales were riding a tricycle together for a rehabilitative seminar at the municipal hall when gunned down by the suspects at 11:20 a.m., according to sources.

    Both Dela Cruz and Gonzales recently surrendered to authorities in line with Oplan Tokhang and admitted to having engaged in the illegal drugs trade.

    SPO1 Lorenzo de Luna, investigator, said that beside links in illegal drugs, Dela Cruz was also facing criminal charges of attempted homicide and series of robbery and carnapping.
