SUBIC, Zambales —Three fishermen were killed while 11 others were safe after their fishing boat collided with a passing commercial vessel at the vicinity waters of Infanta, Pangasinan dawn of Monday, Oct. 2.
A report from the Philippine Coast Guard-Pangasinan identified the fatalities as boat captain Dexter Laudencia, 47, Romeo Mejeco Jr., 38, and Benedick Ulandria, 62, all residents of Barangay Calapandayan, Subic.
PCG-Pangasinan quoted boat crew Johnny Manolo, 40, of Barangay Cawag, Subic as saying their boat FB Dearyn collided with an unidentified southbound commercial vessel.
Passing fishermen brought the victims of the mishap to Port of Cato, Infanta.
The PCG-Pangasinan advised the crew and owner of the fishing boat to file a marine protest “for any legal claims it may serve.”
