BOTOLAN, Zambales — Police arrested three persons who introduced themselves as from Malacañang after their vehicle was flagged down at an ECQ checkpointat the boundary with Cabangan town.
In his report to Zambales police director Col. Ponce Rogelio Piñones, Botolan police chief Capt. Bryan Christopher Baybayan said the three were on board a UV Express with plate number TYE 104 that was stopped at a checkpoint located at Barangay Mabanglit, Cabangan.
Baybayan identified the three suspects as Alberto Pangan, 59, married, resident of Barangay Frances, Calumpit, Bulacan; Mario Orsino, 54, married, of Barangay Sindol, San Felipe, Zambales; and Jimmy Padilla, 48, married, of Barangay Cristo Rey, Capas, Tarlac.
When police asked them to stop, they repprtedlyidentified themselves as from Malacañang and said they were conducting inspection in the province. However, they could not produce pertinent papers to back up their claim.
The suspects now face charges for usurpation of authority, falsification of public documents and for simple disobedience in relation to the enhanced community quarantine.
The suspects are temporarily detained at the detention center of the Botolan Police Office awaiting resolution from the court.
