3 drug suspects killed in ‘encounter’

GAPAN CITY – Three men, all from places adjacent to this city, were killed in two a separate buy-bust operations here on Friday, police reported on Sunday.

Supt. Peter Madria, city police chief, identified the suspects as Aljon Ramos, 22, and AC Escubido, 21, both of Sitio Tabing-Ilog, Barangay Sta. Lucia, San Miguel, Bulacan; and Dante Salvacion, 47, of Barangay Malapit, san Isidro, Nueva Ecija.

Escubido was a sangguniang kabataan (SK) councilor in his village, a follow-up investigation showed.

Madria said Ramos and Escubido were killed by retaliating anti-illegal drugs unit after they allegedly fired at the lawmen in a buy-bust operation along Maharlika Highway in Barangay Malimba here at about 4:30 a.m. Friday (Oct. 26).

The suspects reportedly yielded a .22 revolver without serial number, a motorcycle, five plastic sachets of shabu, two glass pipes of dried marijuana fruiting tops and P1,000 marked bill.

Salvacion, a driver, on the other hand, reportedly initiated a gunfight with policemen in a buy-bust in Consuelo Subd., Barangay Bayanihan at around 6 p,m. that same day.

Investigators recovered from him a revolver, a pick-up truck (TPE-558), four sachets of shabu and the P1,000 marked money.
