ORANI, Bataan- A security guard bound for home after work  on Thursday morning was gunned down on board his motorcycle on a busy road in Orani town. The killing was recorded as the second ambush in Bataan this week perpetrated  by two men riding a motor bike.

SPO3 Albert Manabat, Orani police chief investigator, said George Paguio, 46, a supermarket security guard in Hermosa, Bataan, was nearing his residence in Kaparangan, Orani when ambushed by two men riding in tandem at about 6:45 in the morning.

The victim died on the spot from two gunshot wounds in the forehead and neck. Police recovered two empty shells from a caliber .45 pistol.

Neighbors described victim as having no enemy. “Mabait si George at tumanda na rito nang walang kaaway o kagalit,” they said.

Manabat said that as directed by Chief Insp. Palaleo Addag, Orani police chief, follow-up operations were ongoing to ascertain the motive for the killing and establish the identity of the suspects.

Suspects who were on crash helmets fled towards the direction of Samal, the next Bataan town, on board a yellow motorcycle.

Last Tuesday morning, one of two men on board a motorcycle shot to death a former member of the Communist of the Philippines/New People’s Army who was fixing his motorcycle in front of a sari-sari store at the busy MacArthur Highway in Barangay Lalawigan, Samal town.

Insp. Emelito dela Cruz, Samal police chief, said Ramon Lingal, Jr., 48, of Tabing-Ilog, Samal, died by the side of his motorcycle after being shot at close range at about 8:40 in the morning. The suspects fled towards the north direction with the use of a motorcycle.

Recovered were two empty shells and one deformed slug from a caliber.45 pistol.

A close friend said Lingal with his wife and three children will soon leave for the United States after the petition of his parents residing in the U.S. had been approved

The police chief said initial investigation showed that the ambushers might have belonged to either the victim’s comrades in the CPP/NPA or the break-away group, Rebolusyunariong Hukbong Bayan. “Maaaring retaliation ito,” he said but did not elaborate.
