ORION, Bataan — The 1Bataan Village on Friday held the groundbreaking and land development to signal the start of construction of 2,936 housing units in Barangay Daan Pari here.
Mayor Antonio Raymundo said Sec. Eduardo Del Rosario of the Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development and Gov. Albert Garcia led in the groundbreaking. Also joining in the activities were representatives of the National Housing Authority, Ayala Land, City Land, and Asiawide.
The housing project funded for P196 million are primarily intended for families in Barangay Capunitan, Orion whose houses were razed by fire in 2019.
Raymundo said the housing units have community facilities and a 1Bataan Jetty that will serve as parking space for fishing bancas of the beneficiaries.
The mayor said the Bataan Human Settlement Office of the provincial government headed by Chris Leonzon was instructed by the governor to coordinate with housing agencies to ensure that quality housing will be provided to those included in the mandamus for the rehabilitation of Manila Bay and other informal settlers.
