261 registered indigent Persons with Disabilities receive their ₱1,000 financial aid today, February 7, 2022.
ANGELES CITY – Five barangays were visited today, February 7, 2022, by the city government here to deliver house-to-house the P1,000 financial assistance of 261 registered indigent Persons with Disabilities.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. personally visited the PWDs along with the Persons with Disabilities Office headed by Alma Vital and the Gender and Development Office led by Mina Cabiles.
“Tayo na po mismo ang pumupunta bara-barangay para ihatid ang kanilang financial assistance. Bukod po sa nais natin ay komportable sila, pinaprayoridad din po natin ang safety nila laban sa virus,” Lazatin said.
Among the PWDs who received their cash aid today are from at Barangay Lourdes Sur East with 86 beneficiaries; Claro M. Recto (70); Virgen Delos Remedios (59); Agapito Del Rosario (26); and Lourdes Sur (20).
The distribution in the remaining 28 barangays with 3,739 beneficiaries will be scheduled.
Mayor Lazatin has allocated P4 million fund for their financial assistance, Vital says.
According to Vital, there are teams assigned for each barangay to deliver the cash aid right at the doorsteps of the PWDs. The four teams are being supervised by Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel.
This is not the first time that registered indigent PWDs received their P1,000 cash aid.
In fact, the city government also distributed ₱1,000 cash aid to 2,361 indigent PWDs and 139 bedridden PWDs on October 2021, and August 2021 respectively.
Amid the lockdown, P5 million was allotted for the distribution of P1,000 cash assistance to 5,000 registered PWDs.
