CABANATUAN CITY – Nueva Ecija’s youngest confirmed Covid-19 patient – a baby girl who turned 24 days old on Wednesday – has won the battle against the dreaded disease.
The infant from Barangay San Isidro, Santa Rosa who was diagnosed positive of the coronavirus disease onher 14th day has been reunited with her mother, the Nueva Ecija inter-agency task force reported July 8.
The girl’s mother tested negative while her father is under strict home quarantine as of press time.
The girl, named as Patient 72, was initially admitted to the Gonzales General Hospital, a private health facility, in San Leonardo town but was transferred to the state-run Dr. Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center in this city on July 2, according to the NE–IATF.
Meanwhile, confirmed Covid-19 cases in Nueva Ecija rose to 88 after a sea-based worker and a couple fromthis city tested positive, the NE–IATF said.
The 33-year-old seaman, Patient 86, is a resident of Barangay Imelda, a densely populated village here. He was examined as a requirement for his job on July 7 and the result was released on July 8, it was learned.
The couple, 39-year-old Patient 87 and her husband, 41-year-old Patient 88, came from Kapitan Pepe Subdivision here. They have been placed under strict home quarantine as contract tracing is being conducted by authorities.
Both the NE–IATF and city government officials advise their constituents to always practice health standards to contain the spread of the virus.
At least 66 of the Covid-19 cases in the province have recovered.
