BALANGA CITY – At the village hall beside big mango trees, 24 couples exchanged “I dos” witnessed on Friday by an overflowing number of villagers in Cabog-Cabog, an upland barangay in Balanga City.
Balanga City Mayor Jose Enrique Garcia III officiated in the mass wedding in group of five couples each.
As the mayor told them to place the rings on their partners, recite the vows and make the kiss, some women shed tears while laughing. The couples were in simple clothes. They giggled as they recited their love for each other.
They then signed their marriage contracts below the shade of big mango trees.
Included in the mass wedding were new couples and many who have been living-in together for years.
