226 Nueva Ecija residents receive livelihood assistance from DTI

CABANATUAN CITY (PIA) — A total of 226 residents in Nueva Ecija received livelihood assistance from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

They are beneficiaries of the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) which is a livelihood seeding program that aims to assist individuals affected by calamities and health disasters, communities in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas, and those identified by the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict to recover or start their businesses.

DTI Provincial Director Richard Simangan disclosed that bigasan packages were distributed to 110 beneficiaries from Science City of Muñoz, San Jose City, Lupao, Cabiao, San Isidro, San Leonardo, Gapan City, and Jaen.

Sari-sari store packages, on the other hand, were provided to 116 beneficiaries from Bongabon, Laur, Llanera, General Mamerto Natividad, Talugtug, Licab, and Zaragoza.

37-year-old sari-sari store owner Jasmine Mendoza from San Isidro town expressed her gratitude to DTI for providing her with the bigasan package, which served as a significant help to their livelihood.

She said that the earnings from selling the rice provided to them would be used as revolving capital for the growth of their business.

The Negosyo Centers in the province will regularly monitor beneficiaries on their development and growth. (CLJD/MAECR-PIA 3)
