BALANGA CITY (PIA) — Nine micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from Central Luzon have been recognized as regional winners in the 2025 Productivity Olympics for demonstrating outstanding productivity practices and a strong commitment to employee welfare.

The Productivity Olympics, organized biennially by the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC), aims to identify and honor MSMEs nationwide that exemplify innovative and effective productivity improvement programs.

The initiative supports the government’s broader agenda of strengthening MSMEs as key drivers of inclusive economic growth and job creation.

Department of Labor and Employment Regional Director and Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board Chairperson Geraldine Panlilio lauded the resilience and dedication of the awardees in sustaining their businesses while ensuring the well-being of their workers.

“Another realization is that most of you really went through difficulties, medyo nahirapan kayo, but you still emerged as winners, because you have the heart for it, and when you have the heart for people, you will retain them,” Panlilio said.

This year’s competition assessed participants based on two major criteria: Business Excellence, which accounted for 65 percent of the evaluation, and Employee Engagement and Empowerment, which made up the remaining 35 percent.

The MSMEs declared as regional winners include DLR Foods Supply Trading and San Vicente’s Homemade Kakanin from the Industry sector under the Micro category; Zennor Hydroponics Farm and Diaspora Resort from the Agribusiness sector under the Micro category; Aiza’s Sweets from the Industry sector under the Small category; Bayler View Hotel Corporation and Beeanzon Convenience Store from the Service sector under the Small category; Bali Champion Bottlers Inc. from the Industry sector under the Medium category; and Zoobic Safari Corporation from the Service sector under the Medium category.

Panlilio expressed confidence that these businesses will represent Central Luzon in the national competition with wholehearted dedication and unwavering commitment.

She added that regardless of the outcome, the regional winners can take pride in being recognized as among the best in the country for their productivity and people-centered business practices.

Following the regional screening, the winning enterprises will advance to the national selection process, led by the NWPC. Winners of the national competition will be announced in October 2025. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Bataan)
