CABANATUAN CITY – The first-ever two-weekend fireworks festival participated in by six nations at the SM City Cabanatuan open park area has gathered about 200,000 people from across the province, organizers said.

The festival, an apparent bigger sequel to the 2016 Pyro Musical exhibition by several provinces, showcased the best colorful and enchanting fireworks of Japan, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Philippines in two successive Saturdays, Feb. 25 and March 4.

Carolyn Del Rosario, assistant mall manager, said the festival “continues to grow and it’s really become an annual celebration in this city.”

“This year is different because of its international standard of performance representing different countries in Asia,” Del Rosario noted.

The mall management, she explained, aims for an annual fireworks festival as an event for family get-together or reuniting family and friends in a memorable moment.

“We would like to complete each family and reunite friendship while looking at the fi reworks performances because watching them emits the feeling of nostalgia which is better spent with the most important people around you,” Del Rosario stressed.

She noted that the events had all been safe and orderly given the security preparation undertaken by the management, including the provision of police and emergency response teams.

She thanked all the people who attended the event as well as their “partners” like the Cabanatuan City police station led by Supt. Ponciano Zafra, City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office and the Provincial Police Security and Safety Division.
