MABALACAT CITY – The Mabalacat City government through its COVID-19 Response Integrated System (CRIS) declared 20 out of its 27 villages free from COVID-19 on Sunday, Nov. 14.
This city has also logged zero new cases and deaths while its total active cases dropped to 23 with a 0.3% positivity rate.
Mayor Crisostomo Garbo attributed the downward trend of COVID-19 cases in the city to its intensified vaccination program. He also urged his constituents not to be complacent and to adhere to the minimum public health standard protocols as the city continues to record a decline on COVID-19 cases.
Holding the record for highest vaccination rate in Region 3, Mabalacat City along with other local government units with high inoculation coverage were invited to submit a documented report on their vaccination best practices in a letter forwarded by the Department of the Interior and Local Government – Central Luzon last Nov. 9.
In a supplementary attachment from the DILG-3, records show that a total of 191,268 individuals comprising 96.06% of the eligible population have been vaccinated with their first dose while 155,787 or 78.68% have received their complete doses of COVID-19 vaccine. The target population in this city is 198,001.
Meanwhile, registration and inoculation for COVID-19 vaccination of kids ages 12 to 17 years old has started and is currently ongoing.
