TARLAC CITY (PIA) — About 20 beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Capas participated in the skills training of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Tarlac.
In coordination with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, Negosyo Center Capas trained the potential entrepreneurs on starting up a business and mulberry processing.
DTI OIC-Provincial Director Florencia Balilo said mulberry was chosen as raw material for the training since it is easy to propagate and manage, which is suited for start-up entrepreneurs.
“We hope that the participants will take this learning activity as an opportunity for investment and maximize mulberry fruits which are delicious and have lots of nutritive benefits,” she said.
Negosyo Center Capas Business Counselor Adrian David discussed the basics of entrepreneurship, processes of starting a business, and various programs and services the Negosyo Center offers.
Meanwhile, resource speaker Danilo Gacusan demonstrated the process of making jam, syrup and concentrate, pastillas, and muffins using mulberry as the main ingredient.
Moreover, DTI assured the participants of its continuous assistance to micro, small, and medium enterprises in reaching and widening their market as well as developing their products. (CLJD/GLSB-PIA 3)
