2 TESDA satellite training centers to open in Bataan

BALANGA CITY — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority on Friday announced that two satellite training centers are to open in Bataan after an agreement was finalized between TESDA and the local government units.

TESDA provincial director Julie Ann Banganan said the two satellite centers will be located in the Limay Center of Excellence at the Roman Highway in Barangay Alangan, Limay and at the PNOC Petrochemical Development Corp. housing in Barangay Batangas Dos, Mariveles.

Banganan said the decision was arrived at after TESDA Region 3 director Atty. Balmyrson Valdez met with Limay Mayor Nelson David and Batangas Dos chairman Venancio Villapando, Jr.

To finalize the agreement, the deed of usufruct will soon be signed by TESDA director-general Sec. Isidro Lapena, David and Villapando.

Banganan said the two satellite centers will be in addition to the regional training center in Barangay Camaya, Mariveles and the provincial training center in Barangay Pag-asa, Orion. The two satellite centers will be under the regional training center. 

She explained that TESDA is mandated to provide and enhance the competence, skills and in maximizing employment opportunities as one of the major objectives towards national development.

 “The operation of the training centers is  dedicated to the noble purpose of empowering the young men and women not only of Limay and Batangas Dos but likewise that of the whole province of Bataan by helping them acquire employable skills that will improve their quality of life,” Banganan said.

Sierra Flores of TESDA–Bataan provincial office said that aside from Banganan and Valdez, those who attended the meeting with the local leaders were Mariveles regional training center chief Neil Santioque, senior specialist Noli Bautista and  Orion training center administrator Aida Estacio.
