SAN JOSE CITY – Two people, including Central Luzon’s No. 3 top listed target, were killed while a policeman was wounded in drug sting that turned bloody in Barangay Sto. Niño 1st here before dawn Sunday, Dec. 6.
The fatalities were identified as Bryan Leonile Dris, 33, a native of Loakan and Hymer Leung, 34, of Irisan, both of Baguio City.
Nueva Ecija police director Col. Marvin Joe Saro said Dris was No. 3 in the list of illegal dug personalities in the region.
A cohort of the suspects eluded arrest while a police operative whose name was withheld is undergoing medical treatment at Sacred Heart of Jesus Hospital here for gunshot wound, police said.
Police said the firefight occurred when the suspects opened fire at an undercover lawman in the buy–bust at about 1:45 a.m.
“The suspects sensed that they transacted with a police poseur–buyer, pulled their short firearms and fired upon the operating troops resulting in a firefight hitting the suspects fatally while the other suspect escaped,” said Saro.
Follow up operation continues for the possible arrest of the suspect who eluded arrest.
Forensic investigators recovered from the scene of encounter an improvised .38 revolver, one .22 pistol, one sachet of shabu, and a sedan with plate no. AAZ 9301.
