2 nabbed for fake notarial services

ANGELES CITY – A man and a woman reportedly engaged in fake notarial services were arrested by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Angeles City Field Unit in entrapment operations along MacArthur Highway in Barangay Sto. Domingo here on Sept. 12.

The suspects were identified as Darwin Dayrit, 31, of Barangay Cawayan, Mexico, Pampanga; and Katherine Mae Manansala, 29, of San Angelo Subd., Barangay Sto. Domingo.

A spot report to the CIDG Regional Field Office-3 said the suspects were “caught in the act with conspiracy to one another engaged in unauthorized/fake notarial services impersonating and/or using fictitious names of lawyers and their roll numbers.”

It furthered that “the operation stemmed on the information provided by the IBP-Pampanga Chapter that fake notarial services are rampant in the province of Pampanga particularly in San Fernando City and Angeles City.”

Representatives of IBP-Pampanga led by Atty. Peter Paul Maglalang along with the Task Force Fake Notaries, and Angeles City Police Station 1 joined the CIDG in the entrapment operations.

Recovered from the suspects were three P100 bills dusted with UV powder used as the marked money; notarized transacted document (affidavit of loss) bearing the name of Atty. Rolando Quiambao with Roll No. 53671; notarized test-buy document (affidavit of loss) bearing the name of the same Atty. Rolando Quiambao with Roll No. 53671; one dry seal; three rubber stamps; one stamp pad; one date stamp; one typewriter; one CPU; one computer monitor; one computer printer; one keyboard; one WiFi router; and one cellular phone.  and one hand bag.

Along with the confiscated pieces of evidence, the suspects were brought to the CIDG Regional Field Unit 3 office for processing and documentation preparatory to inquest proceedings before the City Prosecutor of Angeles City.
