CABANATUAN CITY – Suspected shabu worth P170,000 and a shotgun were seized from two suspects in a drug sting conducted by local police in Barangay Kalikid Sur here Friday night.
In his report to Col. Richard Caballero, acting Nueva Ecija police director, Lt. Col. Edilmar Alviar, acting city police chief, identified the suspects as Gliber Salde and Jocelyn Castillo, both residents of the said village.
Alviar said operatives from the city and provincial police’s drug enforcement units, using a pre-marked P1,000 bill, successfully purchased a sachet of suspected shabu from the duo at about 10:30 p.m.
Upon arrest, Salde reportedly yielded four more sachets, a shotgun and several bullets while two sachets were recovered from Castillo, Alviar reported.
The suspects have been placed under the custody of the city police facing charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
