MARIVELES, Bataan
A baby boy previously tested positive of coronavirus disease and who is celebrating his second month of birth Sunday, was released from hospital confinement here Saturday.

Dr. Hector Santos of the Mariveles District Hospital said the baby passed two swab tests, the latest on April 19. He said from April 19 to the present was more than the 14 day-required quarantine and they decided to discharge the infant a day before his birthday.

The physician said they found the baby already clinically healthy and has no more symptom of Covid19, aside from having negative swab testresults.

Santos said the baby will still be in home quarantine and will undergo another swab test after 48 hours. “If the test is negative, then he will be deleted from the list of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Bataan,” the doctor said.

Latest report showed that there are 88 confirmed cases with 20 recoveries and four deaths in Bataan.

The baby, then almost a month old, was confined first at the Bataan General Hospital in Balanga City where he was found positive of the virus. After a week, he was transferred to the Mariveles District Hospital on April 5.

Santos said the whole hospital staff and personnel rejoiced over the release of their patient. They even gave the baby’s parent a birthday cake.

There were cheering and dancing while hospital staff held placards showing how happy they were on the baby’s turning Covid-free.
