ANGELES CITY – Two mayors in Pampanga have expressed confidence that newly-installed Clark Development Corp. (CDC) President and CEO Felipe Antonio B. Remollo would perform well, citing his track record as former mayor and lawyer.

Mayor Edgardo “Ed” Pamintuan said his impression of Remollo was that “he is down to earth and easy to understand guy.”

“Basically, he is not the usual technocrat and hard to deal with executive. As a former mayor, he knows how to deal with communities and local government units (LGUs),” said Pamintuan of Remollo who was a former three-term mayor of Dumaguete City and Ateneo De Manila University law graduate.

Pamintuan disclosed that he recently met Remollo after the latter officially assumed post early May.
He added that they talked about tourism and beautification of the freeport and this city.

“I think with Remollo at the helm, there would be more progress in Clark and nearby areas,” he said.
The mayor stressed that “there should be parallel development between Clark and its surrounding communities.”

Pamintuan also said the Metro Clark Advisory Council (MCAC) “is excited to work with Remollo).” The city mayor is the head of the MCAC.

For his part, Mayor Marino “Boking” Morales of Mabalacat said they will support Remollo “for the benefit of the people.”

He shared the sentiments of Pamintuan that Remollo as former mayor would “work harmoniously with us.”
Morales said he will ask Remollo to assist them in the development of the airport in Clark.

“Although Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA) is under Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC), the CDC plays a vital role in helping the airport becomes the next main airport of the country.

“More flights at Clark means more income and work opportunities for our people,” said Morales.
