CAMP Olivas, Pampanga – Two Manila policemen, a barangay “kagawad” from Tondo and their companion were arrested recently in the poblacion of San Simon town in this province for selling fake cigarettes worth some P100, 000.
A police report here identified the suspects as PO1 Jupiter Quizon and PO1 Christian Damian, formerly assigned to the district mobile force battalion of the Manila Police District.
The two were reported to be on absence without leave from their police work Their companion was identified as Jonathan de Leon, a kagawad of Barangay 231 in Tondo, Manila and one Marlon Padalian.
San Simon police head Chief Inspector Louie Gonzaga said that his men received reports from barangay peace volunteers of some men selling cigarettes in the poblacion area.
Policemen went to check the report and found the suspects negotiating with a store which was about to buy the cigarettes.
In the suspects’ possession were three boxes containing 100 reams of fake cigarettes worth about P100, 000.
The Manila cops were also found with their 9 mm service pistols and failed to produce documents.
