CABANATUAN CITY – Two elementary school pupils drowned in a creek in Barangay Namulandayan, Lupao, Nueva Ecija at around 12 noon Friday.
The victims, identified as John Rey Rodrigo, 7, and Ian Mark Capitan, 8, were rushed by rescue operatives to the Lupao Municipal Health Center but were pronounced dead on arrival by a physician, said PO1 Benjamin Dandin, investigator.
Investigation disclosed that the boys, both residents of the same village, were swimming on the creek when the accident happened. The duo apparently went to the deep portion and drowned.
Meanwhile, the body of an unidentified woman was found sprawled on a road near an irrigation canal in Purok 6, Barangay Bakod Bayan this city at about 6:30 am Friday. (Oct. 21).
Police said the victim bore stab wounds in her head and body.
