Tony Roman, unopposed in the 1st District

BALANGA CITY — Two congressional bets in Bataan are running unopposed based on the report released Wednesday, a day after the last day of filing of certificates of candidacy, by the provincial office of the Commission on Elections here. 

Sure winners in the May 2025 national and local elections are 1st District congressional candidate lawyer Tony Roman and 2nd District reelectionist Rep. Albert “Abet” Garcia.  

Roman, an incumbent member of the sangguniang Panlalawigan, will take over the post to be vacated by Rep. Geraldine Roman who will complete her three terms in 2025.

Garcia is on his second term as congressman.  

Reelectionist Rep. Maria Angela “Gila” Garcia of the 3rd District has Ernesto Manalo as her opponent. Gila Garcia was former three-term mayor of Dinalupihan and in her second term as member of the House. 

Reelectionist Rep. Albert “Abet” Garcia, unopposed in the 2nd District

Gov. Jose Enrique “Joet” Garcia 3rd, on his second term, has two opponents, former Pilar Mayor Beth Santos, and Joemel Pugna. 

Incumbent Vice Gov. Cris Garcia, seeking her third term, faces JV Coronel. 

In Balanga City, Raquel Garcia, wife of three-term Mayor Francis Garcia, will be the next city mayor having no opponent. Francis who will be running for vice mayor faces a rival in the post. 

Congressman Garcia and Governor Garcia are brothers with Congresswoman Garcia as their sister and Mayor Francis as another brother. 

The Comelec provincial office could not yet release data on municipal candidates and other data, saying they were still collating reports from the municipal and city election registrars.
