In a case filed before the National Police Commission (Napolcom), Eduardo Manugue, provincial head of the Anti- Poverty Commission, identified the policemen as SPO2 Jimmy Santos and PO1 Redmar Santos. He said that the former was recently transferred to Macabebe town while the latter was moved to the Masantol police station.
Manugue accused Jimmy of keeping from the court one of three plastic sachets of shabu as evidence seized from drug dealer suspect Filemon Quiambao during a buybust operation in Guagua last March 9. He noted a photo showing three sachets of shabu being presented by the local police to Guagua Mayor Dante Torres immediately after the operation.
He quoted Quiambao as admitting three sachets of alleged shabu were seized from him.
Manugue also had photos of a red Toyota Innova van being used regularly allegedly by Jimmy and that this van belonged to Quiambao and was impounded for use a evidence in court. He said Jimmy had removed the vehicle’s plate No. RMG 590 and uses the vehicle without plate.
At the same time, Manugue also sought the help of the Guagua mayor on the case of 19-year-old Paulene Mae Nazal who was detained in the local jail with her husband for alleged drug dealing. He said Nazal had filed acts of lasciviousness case against policeman Redmar who has since been moved to the Masantol police department.
“She belongs to an extremely poor family in Barangay Sta. Ursula and her parents can’t even afford the fare to visit her in jail,” Manuque noted.
Manugue expressed fears that Nazal’s case against the cop is facing dismissal after she twice failed to show up for hearings on her case. “How can she attend the hearing when she is under the custody of the police force where the respondent used to be a part of?” he asked.
Manugue said he has brought the cases of the two cops to the attention of higher regional police authorities at Camp Olivas.
