BALANGA CITY — The Bataan police provincial office here reported the arrest of two suspected drug peddlers during a buy-bust operation in Orani, Bataan Friday evening.
Bataan police officer-in-charge Col. Joel K. Tampis said the suspects are a 34-year– old driver from Barangay Mabatang, Abucay, Bataan and a 49-year–oldwoman, a caretaker from Barangay Sapa in Samal, Bataan.
The male suspect was included in the Philippine National Police/Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency unified drug watchlist who surrendered last September, 2020, the police acting provincial director said.
Confiscated from the two were five heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and the marked P500 bill, Tampis said.
Reports showed the suspects were arrested after they handed over one small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu to a police-poseur-buyer in exchange for P500. During the protective search, four sachets of suspected illegal drugs were confiscated from the possession of the driver.
Joint elements of the special drugs enforcement units of Abucay municipal police station led by Major Leopoldo Estorque, Jr. and Orani MPS headed by Major Joey Sampaga together with other units of the Bataan PPO under Captain Phoe Pangan, Jr. conducted the buy-bust operation in Barangay Mulawin, Orani at 7 p.m.
Tampis said appropriate criminal charges are being prepared against the suspects for filing before the office of the provincial prosecutor in Balanga City.
