PILAR, Bataan- Two police officers died when the car they were riding figured in a head-on-collision with a 10-wheeler truck along the Roman Superhighway here at dawn of Wednesday.
The fatalities were identified as P01 Santy Gacutan, 27, of Cagayan and P03 Ronald Dorondon of Lubao, Pampanga, both assigned at the provincial police office at Camp Tolentino in Balanga City.
Their car, reportedly a red Toyota Vios, was a total wreck and got burned apparently from the strong impact after it hit the big incoming truck. The front portion of the 10-wheeler truck was also burned.
Sketchy report showed that the car was bound to Balanga City when it collided with the truck travelling in the opposite direction at about 3:15 in the morning at the superhighway in Barangay Alauli.
Truck driver Demetrio Marasigan, 70, of Balanga City, was detained at the Pilar police station.
Police said they were still conducting investigation.
