BALANGA City, Bataan – Genesis Transport Service, Inc. launched in Bataan on Thursday the first hybrid bus service for the provincial run in the Philippines that will serve the Balanga City – Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange route.

The launching was conducted at the stunning edifice of The Bunker, historical seat of the provincial government, and four-lane road in Balanga City.

Gov. Jose Enrique Garcia III said additional bus services in Bataan is very important considering that investors continue to flock in economic zones, hiring thousands of workers.

Bataan is home to the Freeport Area of Bataan in Mariveles and the Hermosa Economic Zone.

Garcia has a wish addressed to Land Transportation Franchising & Regulatory Board chair Vigor Mendoza. “Sana bumaba presyo ng pamasahe.”

The governor who led the launching said the use of electrified hybrid buses made vehicles  less dependent on fossil fuel and with less strain on the environment.

Garcia is hopeful that Bataan will shift to full electric buses and will  be a major actor in the milestone event for the environment.

Genesis Transport, Inc. president Riza Moises described Bataan as  a pioneer in many events – first export processing zone established in the entire Asia region, pioneer in oil refinery in Limay, first nuclear plant although mothballed in Morong and now the first hybrid bus service for the provincial run in the country.

Genesis buses ply routes between Bataan and many points in Metro Manila and Northern Luzon. (30)
