SAMAL, Bataan — Classes at a public elementary school here ran smoothly on the first day Tuesday, August 29.
“Welcome Back to School,” says a sign at the Samal South Elementary School in Barangay Sta. Lucia.
As usual, parents or other family members accompanied the children, especially those in daycare and Grade 1, some of whom cried and refused to be left.
Children from kinder to Grade 6 enthusiastically fell in line in entering their classrooms in full guidance of their teachers.
Walls of classrooms are almost bare after the Department of Education directed that “public schools shall ensure that school grounds, classrooms and its walls, and other school facilities are clean and free from unnecessary artwork, decorations, tarpaulin and posters at all times.”
