1st Clark Golf Cup set at Mimosa

    CLARK FREEPORT — The 1st Clark Golf Cup fires off on Friday, March 21, at the Mimosa Golf & Country Club here.

    The ceremonial tee-off at 7:30 a.m. will be led by nineyear old Junior Golf Foundation of the Phils. Champion Annyka Pineda Cayabyab, Clark Development Corp. (CDC) President/ CEO Arthur P. Tugade, former CDC President Benny Ricafort, Wack Wack Golf & Country Club President Philip “Popoy” Juico and Philippine Olympics Committee President Jose “Peping” Cojuangco.

    Drawing a field of golf enthusiasts, businessmen and public officials, the tournament is organized by the Capampangan in Media Inc. (CAMI) in cooperation with the CDC. Awaiting the players are hole-in-one prizes such as a Haima FStar-5 minivan from the Laus Group of Companies, a Piaggio Ape golf cart from Autohub, and other highend items. Valuable gifts will be raffled off during the awarding ceremony.

    Among the tournament’s Gold sponsors are the CDC, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp., Jose Cojuangco & Sons Organization, International Container Terminal Services Inc., TV5 Network, RII Builders, Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co., Oishi, and Megafiber Corp. Silver sponsors include Casino Filipino Mimosa Clark, Pag-IBIG Fund, Cherrylume & Sumo GI Sheets, San Miguel Corp., Unilever Phils., Clark International Airport Corp., Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, and Stradcom Corp.

    The tournament aims to raise funds for CAMI socio-civic, cultural and educational projects, including competence- upgrading seminars for young journalists, campus writers, and communication personnel in media-allied fields.
