FORT RAMON MAGSAYSAY, Palayan City – At least 61 repatriated overseas Filipino workers were sent off after finishing quarantine at the We Heal As One Center here on Thursday.
A simple send-off was held by the Bureau of Quarantine and the medical staff for the Covidsurvivors—the first batch discharged from the facility—before they were fetched by their families and loved ones to go home, according to the Presidential Communications Operations Office.
The OFWs stayed at the quarantine facility for severaldays since arrival from abroad.
The PCOO reported that the facility has 478 air-conditioned rooms allotted for Covid-positive patients, while 44 rooms are for the medical stations.
The report said patients received 24/7 medical care and assistance, free meals, and have access to free internet connection at the facility.
The Fort Magsaysay quarantine center is part of the national government’s strategy to convert major facilities into quarantine sites for Covid-19 patients with mild symptoms and those asymptomatic to avoid congestion in hospitals and prevent transmission of coronavirus in the communities.
