CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — A total of 1,983 solo parents from various towns in Pampanga received aid through the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s “Ayuda para sa Kapos Ang Kita Program (AKAP) program, in partnership with the Alagang Nanay Partylist and the Provincial Government of Pampanga.
The distribution was held at the Kingsborough International Convention Center and led by Alagang Nanay Partylist Rep. Florabel Yatco, together with Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Vice Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda.
Each solo parent received P5,000 in cash assistance from DSWD, grocery packs from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, personal care kits from the partylist, and lifetime pneumonia vaccines.
“Solo parents play the role of both mother and father. We hope this program helps them in some way,” said Yatco. Vice Governor Pineda thanked the partylist for including Pampanga in the program and recognizing the needs of solo parents in the province.
Present during the event were board members Fritzie David Dizon, Atty. Claire Lim, Sajid Eusoof, Cherry Manalo, and Christian Halili, Alagang Nanay Partylist Secretary General Atty. Nicolette Henson, consultant and former board member Ananias Canlas Jr., and chief of staff to the vice governor Angelina Blanco.
The program is part of ongoing efforts to support solo parents through financial and health-related assistance.
