CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Some 1,800 “drug personalities” in Aurora have surrendered to the police since Oplan Tokhang was launched in the province last July.

In a report, Aurora police officer-in-charge Supt. Fidel Drapeza said that of the total, 1,746 admitted being illegal drugs users while 142 were pushers.

The report indicated that of Aurora’s eight towns, the capital town of Baler had the most drug personalities that included 492 ushers and 18 pushers, followed by San Luis with 381 users and 13 pushers, and Ma. Aurora with 261 users and 10 pushers.

Fourth was Dipaculao with 244 users and 27 pushers, Dingalan with 136 users and 36 pushers, Dinalungan with 44 users and nine pushers, Casiguran with 120 users and 27 pushers, and Dilasag with 68 users and two pushers.

Aurora is Central Luzon’s smallest province with a population of about 215,000.

Drapeza said he expected more drug users and pushers to either surrender or be arrested. “We want to be a drugfree province as soon as possible,” he added.
