CABANATUAN CITY — Nearly half a million pesos worth of illegal drugs and two unlicensed firearms were seized in simultaneous anti-criminality operations in Nueva Ecija on Friday, Sept. 6.

Col. Ferdinand Germino, newly-installed OIC director of the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO), said the operations resulted to the arrest of 16
suspects.

Operatives of Gapan City Police Station led by city police chief Lt. Col. Wilmer Binag confiscated 57 grams of suspected shabu worth P387,600 and a 9mm pistol in a buy-bust in Barangay Mangino shortly after 12 midnight, said Germino.

The operation led to the arrest of a certain Noel, 44, tagged as a high value individual and his alleged cohort alias White, 43.

Ten other suspected drug traders were collared in similar operations in the municipalities of Bongabon, Lupao, Quezon, San Antonio, Llanera, Rizal, Santa Rosa, Carranglan, and Cuyapo and Cabanatuan City, police said.

These resulted to the seizure of a total of 11.30 grams of shabu, valued at P76,840 and one Norinco .45 pistol, police also reported.

The suspects now face charges for violations of RA 9156 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Additional charges for violations of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act were being readied for the suspects caught in possession of the pistols.

Meanwhile, three people with pending arrest warrants were arrested in separate manhunt operations conducted by elements of Lupao and Guimba police stations.

“We can all expect NEPPO to show its full capabilities and take this weeklong SACLEO (simultaneous anti-criminality and law enforcement operations)  by storm,” Germimo said.
