TARLAC CITY (PIA) — About 15 members of the solo parent association in Gerona benefitted from the training on Starting Up a Business and bread and pastry making of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Tarlac.
Negosyo Center Gerona coordinated with the municipal Public Employment Service Office in identifying beneficiaries and potential entrepreneurs.
DTI OIC-Provincial Director Florencia Balilo said the capacity building intends to provide business opportunities to solo parents for an additional stream of income.

“The activity supports the municipality’s livelihood program for the beneficiaries, which aims to equip them with knowledge of doing business and new skills that they could utilize as their source of income,” she furthered.
Negosyo Center Gerona Business Counselor Khaycee Yvonne Ampania shared the basics of entrepreneurship, steps and requirements in registering a business, and services that DTI provides for micro, small, and medium enterprises.
Meanwhile, Resource Speaker Danilo Gacusan demonstrated the process of making chiffon cake, banana bread, cheese bread, ensaymada, brownies, and butterscotch.
