BALANGA CITY — Bataan logged 14 new casualties from the coronavirus disease Thursday that brought the total number of deaths to 605, the provincial health office reported Friday.
The new fatalities were 66-year-old male and 65-year-old female from Samal; a 45-year-old male and three females aged 64, 63, and 59 from Orion; two females aged 37 and 73 from Limay; 42-year-old female from Balanga City; 64-year-old female from Dinalupihan; 71-year-old female from Abucay; and a 69-year-old male and two females aged 87 and 63 from Mariveles.
The total number of those who tested positive of the virus rose to 17,108 with 34 Delta variant and 2,865 active cases after 246 new confirmed cases were added.
The new confirmed cases came from Mariveles – 60, Balanga City – 48, Limay – 27, Abucay – 25, Dinalupihan – 23, Orion – 19, Morong – 15, Bagac – 12, Pilar – 8, Samal – 5, Hermosa – 3, and Orani – 1.
New recoveries were record-high at 342 that made the total number of those who have recovered climbed to 13,637.
Mariveles that has been leading in new confirmed cases is the highest in new recoveries with 298, followed by Balanga City (12), Limay (10), Abucay (9), Orion (9), Pilar (3), and Samal (1).
