CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Cash amounting to P3,000, food packages, hygiene kits, and vitamins were provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development, in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Pampanga, to each of 138 pregnant women from this city on July 3.
A part of the Capitol’s “First 1,000 Days Program,” the event was led by former board member and now Executive Assistant IV, Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab, representing Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda.
Aside from the distribution of assistance, lecture-discussions on maternal and child health care, covering regular check-ups, vaccinations, and proper nutrition before, during, and after pregnancy were also conducted. The importance of breastfeeding was likewise highlighted, emphasizing its vital role in a child’s health and development.
The First 1,000 Days Program aims to address the health and nutrition needs of mothers and children during the critical first 1,000 days of life, from zero to two years old. Pampanga PIO
